Promotional Ad Strategy Increases Visibility and Leads

The gym wanted to increase new members and member retention, but it needed to differentiate itself from the high volume of other CrossFit gyms in its area. To do this, it needed to gain the attention of the local CrossFit community and entice those people to either sign up or switch gyms.

The Challenge

The gym space is highly saturated and it is very challenging to stand out amongst the competition.

  • The volume of competition and lack of visibility made it difficult to get in front of prospective members.
  • CrossFit members tend to be extremely loyal to their home gyms and are thus hard to entice to move to a new one.

The Solution 

We created a targeted Google Search ad strategy that focused on several factors to increase leads and drive conversions: 

  1. We targeted all the surrounding areas to establish brand identity within those markets. 
  2. We focused on marketing to people who drove into their specific and surrounding areas for work, marketing the convenience of working out around their work schedule – highlighting the early morning, lunchtime, and after-work periods.
  3. We advertised a free month of membership if the prospect converted and signed up to be a new member.

Results

The multifaceted Google Search campaign increased visibility and generated a large number of new leads, new memberships, and retention.
