The Money is in the Follow-Up

October 1, 2020

The follow-up strategy you have in place after someone contacts your business through the website is a critical component of digital marketing that often gets overlooked.

Traffic Is Only Half the Battle

A lot of focus goes on traffic and the ad channels that brought people to the website and if leads or contacts were generated or not. People tend to look at the number of clicks on the call button, form submissions, and engagement with the live chat.

Little emphasis is put on the scripting and customer service used to nurture those leads. And I’m here to tell you that the money is in the follow-up.

Script Your Follow-Up

When someone contacts your business, everyone in your organization that is responsible for following up with those leads should be following a script. Customer follow-up needs to be consistent and strategic.

Oftentimes, people will not purchase the first time they visit a website, or the first time they visit a particular business. Capture their contact information so you can then follow-up to make sure they’re fully aware of how your business can help them solve their particular problem.

It’s an important component of digital marketing to make it as successful as possible.
