If you have a business that runs off making sales to other businesses, listen up. If you’ve primarily relied on sales teams to bring in new business and have never really had to do marketing or advertising before, it’s time to make some changes.

Right now, we are still sitting here in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic with total uncertainty as to when – if ever – things will be business as usual. The strategy of solely relying on outside sales teams to bring in new customers and prospects is no longer sustainable. This strategy is dying because your sales team cannot hit the road and physically prospect like they used to.

Enter digital marketing.

Digital marketing and digital advertising are now your best ways to continue to market to other businesses, get in front of prospects, and ultimately close more sales. Here’s what you need to do – start with creating content.

The best way to prospect online is to educate. Create content – articles, photos, videos, slideshows, etc. – that are educational in nature. Start distributing them on your social media channels. Give them to your sales teams and have them distribute on their social media channels as well.

Things have changed forever. We will likely never go back to doing business the way we did before the pandemic. This strategy will get your business in front of potential customers and build the relationships your sales team can no longer build in person.

You must start today. The longer it takes you to start to create these materials and get them out there, the further your business falls behind.
