Give Your Website Visitors What They Want

October 7, 2020

What do most people want when they visit your website?

A HubSpot survey shows that 76% of people that visit your website simply want you to make it easy for them to find the information they’re looking for.

This means they want to be able to easily find information on your company, like your leadership team, information about your products and services and how they’re made, the process and the ingredients that go into them, and what fulfillment is like. They also want it to be easy to contact you if they have further questions or are having issues.

So, what makes it easy for users to find what they’re looking for?

1. Simple and clear website navigation. The navigation links that are typically at the top of your website need to be labeled to clearly explain what information exists on those pages.

2. Visible contact information. Don’t make your visitors hunt for your contact information. Have visible links to your contact forms or your company phone number.

3. Valuable and readable content. Take stock of the content that’s on your product and service pages. Are you missing information that your customers might want to know? Are your photos high quality? Could you add a video that explains how it works or what makes it unique? Make sure you’re using bullets, numbers, and subheading so your content is easy to scan. You don’t want big blocks of copy.

4. Add an FAQ section. Consider adding an FAQ section to each page that you have a product or a service. This helps ensure you are answering whatever questions your visitors may have.

You should be visiting your own website regularly and checking the above. Make sure everything is updated and relevant.
