This client provides tutoring for two exams needed to continue medical school in the United States to medical students worldwide. The program offers in-person and remote online sessions. We built an elaborate retargeting strategy, using their need for a global audience to its advantage.

Leveraging Google and META to Target Worldwide Audience

Utilizing an essential restructuring of keyword and social media strategies, we increased conversions for those who significantly benefited from the client’s expertise when sitting for their exams.

The Challenge

Broadening visibility proved difficult as students often only search for tutoring programs if they plan to take these exams.

  • We were advertising in parts of the world known for spam, making it difficult to gain trust and credibility.
  • Due to a high volume of competing online and tutor-coaching programs, it’s essential to be financially strategic with the Google Ads budget, as every click counts.

The Solution 

Considering that the target audience for these tests utilizes social media more than their email, we created multiple retargeting campaigns to gain trust and convert leads.

  1. Due to the global nature of this campaign, we created five individual retargeting strategies based on a wide variety of criteria – geography, which tests the consumer needs, and the number of tests they need to take within the testing sequence. This included USMLE steps 1, 2, and 3 and COMLEX 1, 2, and 3.
  2. We leveraged the prospecting data from Google to shift into retargeting campaigns, significantly increasing conversions.
  3. We utilized META Ads, leveraging a combination of image and video assets within the retargeting campaigns to drive conversions.
